Do you want to train your LABRAlad or LABRAlass but get conflicting advice?
You are not on your own and you are heard loud and clear!
This is the short version of Helen's life with Labradors, you would be asleep in
5 minutes if she told you it all and we don't want that.........
2008 - Shadow became Helen's best pal and soul dog
Shadow entered into my life like a storm, exhibiting a severe tendency to bite anyone who tried to take anything from him. Despite being just a 9-month-old puppy with a history of three biting incidents, he was reluctant to let anyone approach him, leading to his failure as an assistance dog even before beginning his training. However, I wasn't deterred by his past behaviour. I showered him with love and care, slowly building a strong bond of trust between us. With time, Shadow transformed into one of the most exceptional demonstration dogs I have ever owned and worked with. Everyone who came across him couldn't help but fall in love with his newfound charm
At the age of 4, Tyler was rescued, and despite a challenging beginning, he struggled with being reactive towards other dogs. Through dedicated efforts, we successfully helped him overcome his fears, transforming him into a lovable and silly companion. Affectionately known as 'Tyler Dawg,' his endearing goofiness won over the hearts of everyone he encountered
2016 - Sky became Helen's first Gundog and boy was she great at Scurries
Sky was my first purchase. Prior to her, I had rescued many animals. However, I was looking for a new challenge. I wanted to have my own Gundog and train her in the field as well as in Scurries. So that is what I did, she was like lightening in her younger days, she has a keen eye and nose for finding game and will pick any bird that needs to be brought in. She has always been great at going self employed so putting her brakes on has been a challenge, but what a girl she is!
2019 - Jack was born, and Helen was there to witness the arrival of Sky's son
Jack was born on the 15th April 2019, he was Sky's second litter and just knew that he was going to join the family. Jack wasn't always going to be called Jack, to get Helen's husband to agree to keeping one it was agreed he could name him, well he chose 'Donk' or 'Moose', well that wasn't happening, so Jack it is. The most loyal, loveable, softy you will ever come across, he stands at stud and even in this role he is a true gent.
2023 - Red joined her family all the way from Bonnie Scotland
Helen's little girl Grace was born in 2019 and Helen wanted a pup for her to call her own, in 2023 Red was found, she was born in Aberdeen and the 12 hour round trip didn't deter Helen, her parents where champs and she just ticked all the boxes, A youngster was needed to take over from Sky and she really has ticked all those boxes too, a keen eye and a sharpness like a Ferrari Red is growing into a lovely young dog. She was also going to bring the next generation into life, but her hips scores aren't brilliant.
